As some of you may know, I have 2 "X" guns at my house. one is a XL-7 in 30-06, and the other is a XS-7 308 that I had made into a carbine. Both guns have shown the ability to shoot 1 hole groups with multiple loads and are amazing in their consistancy.

Last night at the range, I did what I thought was impossible for me and my Marlin. The XS-7 carbine shot a 3 shot group that measured .1" with a HUNTING LOAD!!! I didn't get a chance to run it thru a Chrony, but that will definately be next. The groups was so small, my friend could hardly believe it too.

Yow!

Now if it does that three times in a row, you should sell it, and buy a nice ranch in CO or WY! :D

Can't say I'm shocked to death, as I've had a couple Marlin lever guns that would cut ragged one holers, and of all things, my M9 Camp Gun will do about 1/2" at 50yds with a scope mounted.

In fact, I've yet to see a Marlin thet wouldn't shoot pretty well.

Definately a keeper.

You're just flat showing off now! :)

Well, maybe just a little bit.;)

Considering the barrel has been cut back and there is now 3 different loads that will shoot into 1 hole, I think it's more the work of the 'smith and the quality from Marlin.

I should also mention that the ammo was loaded using MILITARY cases.

Great shooting! Did I miss the range? 50? 100?
The group was shot at 100 yds. I doubt I will ever duplicate it again, but it speaks to the quality of the gun put out by Marlin. Scott [the 'smith] deserves alot of credit for doing an excellent job on the recrowning after cutting the barrel back.

I am sure it is a pretty stiff barrel after being cut that far. Lose a little velocity but deadly accurate. It looks to be a dandy deer gun especially in the thicker woods. You have a nice setup and thanks for sharing. I share your affection for Marlins and have yet to see one that isn't accurate. I think the Marlin bolts along with the Stevens models are some of the best deals going.
