First of all, congrats on collecting a fine deer which will provide some good eatin'! I had a similar run-in this morning when I saw a "club-horned" buck chasing some does from my stand. He was obviously an older deer, at least 3.5-4.5 yr old, but had a "funky rack" (unlike the symetrical one your deer has!). I decided that the rack was not a proper "pass-on" most hunters would want, so I used my lone buck tag in Kentucky to harvest him.

As it turns out, when I called my 6'8" son in law to help the old man out dragging (ME!) he also added that he might have a picture or two of that deer from the nearby trail cam. Sure Nuff it was him!! Same funky 7 pnt with a big body.:eek::eek: I tried to post a pic, but it was too large....

THANKS GENTS.
I shot this buck here in IL. I had spotted him the night before the season running down does. I think he thought he was the big guy of the woods by the way he was chasing those does. He has a heavy body but a small 6pt rack. I have been taking does year after year with my bow and never got a shot at a buck. Well I put the bow down last season and took 2 does with my ML'er and this year I got my buck. Maybe next season I'll get one bigger.;)
