I met Bob Hope several times in Los Angeles, and can say he was a very nice person, had great taste, who also always gave credit to his writers. I know several of his writers, and they had supreme loyalty to him, plus, each one I know has said Hope was the best to work with. (And writing "comedy" ain't hardly the easiest job in the world, but Hope and his writers made it look easy.)
He was a comedic genius, who had, in my opinion, the greatest timing of any comedian I've ever seen/heard. He made the "comedians" of today look like little juvenile schoolboys out on the school ground at recess, telling dirty jokes, and unfunny ones at that. Hope had "class." Most of today's "comedians" are "common."
Don't know how many of you know this, but Bob Hope, aside from being a genuine patriotic American, was also very PRO-Second Amendment.
