I was looking at Bowen's custom 5 shot Redhawks on their website.  I noticed that the cylinder looks longer than that on a stock redhawk.  I was wondering because of this if you could use beartooths 350 grain long nose (.5" NTC) bullet in the 454 casull version, like many people use the same bullet in 45 colt redhawks.  If it is possible, would you be able to get any practical ballistic advantage?  Just wondering.

I was wondering that myself. My super Redhawk in .454 has the standard length cylinder and can not use the 350gr LCMNGC bullet. But if the Bowen cylinder is really made to take a longer bullet I bet that 350gr bullet would be a real rip snorter, probably approaching velocities of the 300gr bullets or about 1600-1700 fps. WOW! That would be awesome, but I would bet it would kick like the proverbial mule. But awesome none the less. Lets us know if you find that out!

God Bless

Chris
