I have a very nice Belgian Light 12 vent rib having a short stock with red recoil pad. The original stock finish looks untouched, yet the pad fits perfectly. The pad is not labeled "Browning." I'm wondering, did Browning ever make a youth model of the A 5? Could this be one?

Sounds like someone shortened the stock and carefully fitted a replacement recoil pad. I have never seen or heard of a Browning Auto 5 youth model shotgun. All the best...

I agree with Gil, I have never heard of a youth A-5 either. However, many an A-5 stock has been cut and some truely good craftsmen can fit a pad to a stock without touching the original finish and yet it looks factory original. (For the record, I am not one of them.)
