Guess I'm just a throwback to old things.

Like my firearms to be blued or stainless steel with wood stocks. Scopes past 44mm objective lens and above 4x12 power belong on LE or military weapons.

The old cup/core bullets have taken lots of game for me in the past, although in the 6.5mm bores the Hornady 129 SST's work great. Don't need all the specialty powders as the Hodgdon, Alliant and IMR propellants of the 80's and 90's still do what I want to do.

Besides, all the firearms (handguns and long guns) are set up for the above and I'm perfectly happy with the results.

Back in the late '60's was the firearms instructor for the local PD. In the ammo shipments from the fed's for training, received a couple cases of S&W 12 ga slugs. Should have held onto a couple of the 5- round packs.
