I've got an 1894, and where the rubber end of the butt of the stock attaches to the black composite line at the very end of the wood, it got hit or something and the rubber piece has a hairine crack/tear just at one end. it's more than hairline(maybe 1/16th") - maybe 1" long(down the black line at the end of the wood). What's the best way to glue/re-attach that so it's less noticable? Thanks.

I would use some rubber cement, pushed into the crack with a toothpick while it was held slightly apart, then taped/held shut with masking or duct tape after wiping off any excess cement that oozes out when it was squezed back together.

If you are using contact cement, then follow directions. Normally, coat each side until they are tacky or dry to touch. Once pushed together it is ready to go.
