get a drill doctor that has the split point cappability. set up to sharpen a 3/8 drill bit and the cut a notch in the holder as a referance point for the masonry drill bits. these drill bits when
sharpened with the split point will drill through files, bearings, planer blades, hard knifes, ect.
and they are cheap. u can grind the sides down for some precise hole sizes as well. use
a mild steel backing behind the hard material the prevent bit breakeage when comeing through.
