I was chatting with a local commercial caster (Pete Thornley) about his 405-grain .431 slugs and he mentioned that he was accurately pushing them close to 2300 fps from a .444 Marlin (with a 1:38 Microgroove barrel, too!) using some sort of surplus Chinese ball powder designed for .223-size cases. Anybody know anything about this propellant and whether such performance is safely possible?

Here we Go again! Contender, I wish you would get your data correct before you you put it on the Forum. We all know it's made from their used sleeping bag mattress! Oh well......time to feed the bulldogs!
Best Regards To All, James
