Hi,guys can anyone give me an idea as to what size i cut my cleaning patches for .223, so as to get best cleaning results thanks Pete...

Military issued I believe 1" square patches when serving during the Viet Nam era. Presently use 1" round patches from ProShot. Some use 22 caliber rimfire patches which I believe are 3/4" round or square in size.

ditto on the proshot patches, they work well on several calibers with the proper jag.

I use 2" round patches and they work great if you do it correctly.

If your cutting patchs, 3/4 to 1 inch square is about right. About the size of your thumb.

Why not cut a few different sizes and see what works? The thickness of the material you're using for patches and whether it's on a jag or loop might make a difference. It's not the size that matters but how you use it
That made me laugh....and of course...I use really big patches

I just cut a g.i. large cleaning patch into four squares. just about right for 223 or 22.
