Here we go...
Lately, I've seen quite a few of the cap 'n' ball Colts converted to cartridge guns.  Mostly I've seen the 1861 Army's, loaded to 44 Colt(?) I think.  For some unexplainable reason, I'm really taken by the Colt Paterson and was wondering if a good strong replica could be converted along the same lines.  Has anyone out there had this done or know anything about it?  What type of cartridge would the Colt Paterson handle?

Well, I guess I found an answer to my question.  Armsport LLC does the conversion based on the Uberti Paterson.  They turn it into a 38 Short & Weak, I mean 38 Smith & Weiner, I mean....  Well, you know what I mean.

Anybody have experience with the Uberti's or Armsport LLC shops?  I still find this an interesting project, but don't want a new nice and shiny canoe anchor.  I already have one of those.

I doubt it.  I'm not aware of any being converted back in the last century.  The paterson was a fairly fragile weapon, one reason Colt didn't sell all that many.
