I want to change my savage 111 top load to a clip feed without having to actually buy a new gun.Is it poosible to have this done?I have seen it done with some Remington 700's so Im thinking it may be possible.
Depends whether you rifle is the newer center feed or older stagger feed. New center feeds are easy to convert but stocks are hard too find for the short action whose action bolt spacing changed to 4.4". When you do find stocks many times they cost more than the rifle originally cost. Long action changes are easier due too greater stock availability. That's partially due too stock screw spacing has remained unchanged for decades.
