what is the barrell twist on a dpms ar-15

It varies from barrel to barrel but the most common twist is a 1:9 unless you are talking about a varmint style AR-15.

thanks it is a dpms a 4 i am trying to work up a hand load for this gun and wanted a good start with knowing the rate of twist any advice than you

Most DPMS are 1:9. Look on top of the barrel between the front sight tower and muzzle as they are usually marked there.

All? then no because you can then include the M1903A4, M1C & Ds, M1891 Nagants, K98s etc. However, almost all current rifles are free floated (SVD and clones are not). Current US weapons are the M24 series (7.62 in use by Army/USAF), M40 (7.62 in use by USMC), Mk 12 SPR (5.56), Mk 13 (Rem 700 in .300 WM), M110 (7.62 SR25) and M107 (.50 Barrett)
