A routine traffic stop for expired license plates escalated to a warrant for failure to appear and then escalated further to the unfortunate murder of a hardworking young officer on the job. Just 23, David joined the Montana Highway Patrol in Nov. 2008. Thankfully his murderer has been found, and he will be serving eternal punishment by his own doing.

My prayers go to the Troopers family. That is one reason I retired from law enforcement. I could see the stress in my family each time I left for duty. Twenty two years was enough for me.

I prefer it when the criminals handle the issue themselves. Capital punishment and imprisonment is just too expensive for them. In MT anyone convicted of a serious crime is treated to 23 hour lockdown in isolation for their term. I think that is too luxurious.
