Never have been on a deal like this so let me know if im in the correct spot on this site. Is there anybody i can talk to about F class shooting competition. I am wanting to get into more shooting than just at my home range. Am I able to shoot my savage 12 F/TR 308 win. at a F class shooting event. im guessing so but just wondering if there are different classes for different F class rifles, or is there a open event. I'v done a little reserch on the web and figured this was the best way to find out what i needed to know. thanks

Hey Hooks, welcome to the forum. The rules are simple: be nice and join in!

My memory usually fails me, but I think there are 2 classes of F-class shooting. I don't remember what they're called, but one is for .308/.223 and the other is unlimited (for caliber). Do a google search and you'll find lots of info.

F-class seems like the thing to do. I'd love to try it. How do you like it?

It comes up on the site from time to time but I don't know that f-class is all in a particular topic. Feel free to start a discussion...... might also search in "rifles and rifle cartridges," that is probably the other good bet for finding related threads.

HooksZ,

The NRA web site has become too complicated to easily find some things, so you may have had trouble finding the rules and competition descriptions there. Here is a link to the NRA fullbore competition rulebook. Take a look through. F-class rules start on page 41. The different rifle types and the courses of fire are in the pages right after that.

Since the rules do not limit the shooter to single-shot rifles (you can have a magazine-fed rifle), I will move this post to the rifles and rifle cartridges forum and leave a link behind.

I've wanted to figure out what all the fuss is about F-class too. Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum. Great bunch of guys here. If you spend an appreciable amount of time on this site you will discover it is one of the top three on the net. Don't know if you've ever seen it but Savage has a very interesting looking rifle on their website that is specifically called out as F-Class.

Hope I don't get into trouble over this.

There is site and forum that deals only with NRA Competitive Shooting Program. If your interested in Palma or F-Class etc you be dealing with posters that are shooting or learning also latest equipment to rifles used

No trouble posting relevant links in response to a forum member's question. In fact, let me say thanks for helping out.

I know for my area you can check out the Ontario Rifle Association which has a good overview of a few sporting events. Depending on your location though, I think it's mostly for us in Ontario. But I do know for a fact they have an "unlimited" category that uses one of the sniper ranges on one of the CF Bases.
