Hi everyone,
To anyone that remembers and cares, I posted about the difficulties I was having with my .257 and MikeG asked about impact points with different loads. Here's the skinny; when sighted in with my 75gr V-Max/H4895 load, the 115gr BT/AA4350 load prints 2 inches low and 1 inch left. The 75gr V-Max/R15 load prints the same as the 115 gr BT load, but unfortunately it is neither as fast nor as accurate as the H4895 load so I'm sticking with H4895. I'll just have to re-zero between loads. (Heck, it's not like I wasn't going to go shooting anyway...)
The other "follow-up" is about my scope that went wacky at the tail-end of last season. It was stringing vertically up to 8". Well, it had been back to Leupold for repairs last summer and I figured it just hadn't been repaired properly. Soooo, as I was taking the scope off to ship it back to Oregon, I discovered the lock ring on the ocular was loose. I had checked every screw on the bases and rings but it never occured to me to check the ocular. I've been using that scope for twelve years and it never came loose before! So I guess you've got the rest figured out- I tighted up the lock ring and the stringing stopped.
I guess it can happen to any of us! <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://beartoothbullets.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->    ID
