For the last week or so I have been unable to access the forum, or any part of Beartooth connected to it.
All the while I have had little to no trouble with other forums.
What happened? Was it my computer? Or did Beartooth have trouble.
I kept getting an error notice that said something about data base problems, and stating that an email had been sent to the web master.
At any rate I'm back on now, so I hope whatever was wrong has been worked out.

To Mr. Miller and All on the Forums.

I'm sorry to report that as you have seen over the last few weeks, we've had an intermittent breakdown of our SQL database which runs these forums. The cause of which we're still trying to unravel, but none-the-less Alex has managed to once again right the overturned database! My hat's off to him and with my greatest thanks and appreciation, as he mainains the technical aspects of this website purely on a volunteer basis, and he's both very busy and rarely has time anymore due to his educational and work obligations, being that he's now basically full-time employed as a software developer/network admin specialist while going to school as well.

As for my absence here on the forums, I'm really missing you fine gentlemen, and the information and fellowship that is so freely shared here. My work load at present doesn't allow for much if any leisure or idle time, and as it is, I don't have time for my family much anymore, much less time on these forums. I poke my head in when I can, but I'm sure you folks would rather have bullets filling your orders than me typing away on the forums.

Thanks to all for their participation here, and again, I'm sorry for the breakdown of the database running the forums. They are as you can see once again, right-side-up and running. Alex is working on installing a self-diagnostic script that he wrote for these forums so that it will periodically check the forums to make sure they are bug free, and when down that it will automatically correct the bugs in the system and make these down-times a thing of the past, or at least only persist only until such time that the self-diagnostics he wrote for this software repair the problems. We are painfully aware of the problem, and are in fact, taking some radical steps to alleviate the situation.

Once again, thanks to all, and I sure do appreciate reading what you gentlemen share here, when my time permits a little browsing.

God Bless,

Marshall

Marshall and Alex, thanks for all your work on this forum. I know I don't post much here, but I check in several times a day. When I couldn't get on it was like trying to walk into a locked room full of goodies. Frustrating as all get out.
Hopefully the diagnostic programs will keep everything going when all the bugs:rolleyes: are finally worked out.

It is amazing how well honesty works to soothe the soul.

Yep it was broke, we were busy and fixed it as fast as possible, sorry bout that...

Sounds like a good recipe to keep people around. Thanks. LIV

Marshall/Alex,

Marshall sponsors and pays for it and Alex keeps it going while the rest of us have the opportunity to use this first class web site. The personal pleasure I receive sure makes me beholden to you two gentlemen. If the old Nietzsche "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" thought is correct, you both should be supermen by now.

Sincerely appreciate effort/contribution you both make.

Dan
