Don't know much about what I just read, Girdwood, Ak. -- and Democrats running cities.
I know alot of cities are run by Democrats, am one myself. Ain't too proud of it like I was 25 or 30 years ago. The party up and left me somewhere along the line. Danged if I know what happened to 'em. But I know that I haven't voted for one in quite a spell now. And don't know anything about Girdwood, Alaska. But I did get a pretty good dose of frost bite while stationed at Ft. Greely, Alaska, outside Delta Jct. while there as a Military Policeman in ' 70 and ' 71.
I'm 51, recently retired from the state of Okla. after 21 years, due to an accident that left me unable to do any hunting or trapping any more, to speak of. Been a hunter all my life, and a trapper and predator caller since the ' 70's. Been a member of the N.R.A. ever since I can remember. I'm married to my lovley wife of 26 years, Kathy and we have two children a girl and a boy ---- no grand kids yet. Don't know much about this here computer, but am learning. Got it to give me something to do, besides drive the wife up the wall.
My wife and son and son-in-law still hunt and I reload ammunition for them. I'm up and down at all hours and can often be caught on an Im if you all feel like talking or have a question on trapping or calling that I may be able to help you with. I ain't a professional by any strech, but if I don't have an answer, I can lie like a fisherman. No, only kidding.but I like fishing too..
That pretty much covers the high points. and I'd like to become aquainted and a part of your group.
By the way, just call me Mongo or Joe, everybody does.

Good info here, and links.
Lotsa loaders!

I'm not sure who, if anyone, actually USES Beartooth Bullets, but it's nice of 'em to host this forum.
Pull up a chair.

I gotta go sleep now, but will catch ya on the flip-flop (whatever that means).

Welcome to the Forum Imongojoe, feel free to jump in anytime. Yeah, I don't know too much about New York City, politics and all, I mean. Guess Alaska is about as far as you can get and still be in the same country. Dang far enough anyway. My post on the thread was straight out of the New York Daily, I didn't add a word to it. I would never down play a person's political or religious preference, wars have been started for less...

No sir, just wanted to keep the good folks aware of legislation and political shenanagins concerning the 2nd Amendment.

Take care

Welcome aboard Mongo Joe! Glad to have a new member. Sorry to hear you can't hunt anymore, but hey, with the computer at least you can talk to folks from all over the country about it. It's good you can keep at it through reloading for the family.
About being a Democrat - I guess we'll let that slide! Seriously, I don't fit in very well with any political party either. You see, I have this nasty habit of thinking for myself and using common sense, along with believing what my eyes tell me and not what a politician wants me to believe. Sets me at odds with most of 'em! IDShooter

Hi, Joe:
Welcome aboard! We mostly chew the fat about cast bullets in big bore leverguns & revolvers, but we can get seriously side-tracked some days

I use a few Beartooth Bullets, but shipping to Canada makes them more expensive than jacketed. The local commercial cast bullets are atrocious, so I started casting my own last summer. You need a few Beartooths around so you know what a good cast bullet looks like. Besides, the government set up a separate safety course for Restricted Weapons (mainly handguns) 2 years ago and the kids go through .38 bullets like peanut butter & honey. Seems like the .22s don't make enough noise!

Bye

Welcome Joe,

Great to have you come amongst us! I too am a trapper (or was when time permitted) and made lots of money in the late 70's and early 80's in the height of high fur prices. My grandfather was a government trapper and a great teacher! Seems with fur prices what they aren't these days that it's a dying art.

Many here are hunters as well so you should find good company and companionship.

Well all look forward to your being here!

God Bless,

Marshall

Joe,

Feel free to share that knowledge about trapping or any other subject. You may have noticed that our 'Tech Notes' are written by many of the members here. No formal requirements, just write up a subject that you find interesting and send it to Marshall or even just post here.

A good way to pass knowledge on to a new generation of shooters.
