Mike,
I don't have a Reeder revolver, but was considering one about a year ago.  All the articles I read said that he was really top notch.  I do know that John Linebaugh thinks very highly of him.  I don't think you can go wrong with one of his products.  But then again, all that I know about him is academic, I've never even held a gun he's worked on.  His website is fairly informative and the guns sure do look good.  I asked if he would put a barrel band front sight on a Black Widow and he told me, "No...that's one of the things that distinguishes John Linebaugh's revolvers, kind of a trademark for him, and we are good friends, I won't do that out of respect for John."  That almost made me buy the revolver from him right then and there.  Hard to find loyalty like that when it comes to money in a highly competitive market like the big bore revolvers.  The reason I didn't go with him is the same reason I didn't go with Linebaugh -- the wait.  He's backordered for quite a while.  He must be good.  If he already had the revolver I wanted, I'd go for it.

Alyeska,

I had the great pleasure of shooting a friends UBU II (a .475 Linebaugh with a 3.5" barrel) last fall.

The gun was flawless and the artwork was exquisit to say the least!

Accuracy was beyond anything I had experienced in a handgun before.

I am in the process of having my Bisquero fitted for a 5 shot cylinder by Gary.

While I hope to someday have a "purty gun" that is not possible for me at this time but I can afford to have Gary put some of the masters touch into my woods gun.

From my limited experience, I would encourage you to procede with your dream.

All my best,

Scotty/North Pole,AK

i am new to this forum and usually just read and learn or not.  Anyway I have a Reeder Alaskan Survivor.  I got it about 4 years ago.  It is built on a 629 S&W and it is my most prized revolver.  Turn around was great and talking to Gary or his wife Collen was a pleasure.  Everyone should have one custom gun or two or three.  You won't be disappointed.

Mike C, I have one of Gary's 45 Long Colt Hunters.  This is a 5-shot gun and is my favorite.  His work is really great and he stands behind his products.  I rate him right up there with Bowen, Clements, etc.  You can't go wrong with Gary....RW
