I'm looking for a reasonably small and fairly light CC handgun (1.5 lbs or under). I am going to sell my Kahr P380. One of the side panels pops loose every time I shoot it, and I am rethinking the 380 ACP. It's just too small of a caliber to make me feel like it's good protection if the worst should happen and I actually need to use it (God forbid).
When I sell the Kahr, I would like to buy a 9mm or a .40mm to replace it. The Glock 27 is intriguing because I could potentially buy two barrels for it, and then I would be able to shoot both calibers out of it. The 27 is cool, because I can lengthen it with bigger clips, as well, when I am not so concerned about carrying it in summer under a t shirt. I would feel a little better if it had a safety on it.
The RAMI 2075 looks interesting online, but I've never shot one. Has anyone had any experience with this handgun? The owner of a local gun store keeps one on his hip concealed, and has for many years. He's a smart man, a former policeman and a veteran. That means a lot to me because I feel he has good judgment. He does not like plastic guns for himself, even though he sells plenty of them. I've heard from him that the safety is reliable on the RAMI, and easy to disengage in a pinch situation. Some people don't like the triggers, however. He likes the trigger on his 9mm 2075, but some people online have complained about them being inconsistent, grainy, etc. Not sure what that means, however.
I like the idea of an all metal handgun because when I buy a gun I like, I want to hold onto it for decades to come. How long does plastic last? Thirty, forty years? Not sure. The RAMI has a black polycoat "alloy" frame. Not sure what that means. Not sure if it is much better than plastic for lasting a long time.
I will want to be able to conceal my new subcompact handgun in multiple situations. I want to get a pocket holster and an inside the belt holster as well, but I probably would not go so far as to ever buy an ankle holster. I also like to just put the handgun in my coat pocket loose when I walk my dog (who tends to pull on the leash a lot!).
If anyone has an opinion on a nice, light, accurate, durable CC handgun in 9mm, 40 or even 45, I'm all ears. So far, I've been intrigued by the RAMI and the little Glock. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
