Hey guys. i have found a great deal on 30 caliber bullets but they are for 30-06 and not .308 that i am loading for. i know both calibers are .308" and i am pretty sure if you seat the 30-06 bullet lower in the .308 case that in can still be used. just wanna know before i spend the $ and possibly blow up a gun

The .308win and 30-06 both shoot the same .308" bullets, however, the 200gr to 220g bullets were intended for the 30-06.

What bullet weight are you referring to?

You will have no problem with those, they'll do fine in either caliber.

In fact, if you had to choose one cartridge or another as an ideal case to load those FMJ's in, the .308 Winchester would probably be better, as it is more efficient than the '06, with light-to-medium bullets.
