Trying to remove an old Griffin & Howe side-mount from a Marlin 336-A rifle. Any hints on how this is done ??? I can't find any screws, slide rails etc. !!! Is it silver soldered ??? HELP !!!!!!! HD1

I was afraid of that Rangr44 !!! I guess I'll just leave it on there for now. I wonder if I could find scope rings in a larger diameter for that mount. It currently has a 7/8" Lyman Alaskan 2 3/4X scope on it. Small diameter scopes just don't let in enough light to suit me. HD1

I'd be fine with selling my scope and mount....if I could get the *&^%$#ing thing off of the rifle !!! Thanks for the info !!! HD1
