"Guns sold in states with laws requiring both the licensing and registration of handguns are less likely to be used in crimes committed in that state, according to a Johns Hopkins University study released Thursday.

The study, conducted by the university's Center for Gun Policy Research, analyzed data collected by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms on guns recovered from crimes committed in 25 U.S. cities over a two-year period. The study was funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."

1. Interesting that the study was funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In Iowa, 82% of gun related deaths are suicides -- thus doctors  "medicine" for mental patients is "gun control", as in NO GUNS. How about inproved funding for proper medical attention? Again, in Iowa, there is no effort to maintain records of mental illness that anyone issuing licenses can access (individual's rights wouldn't allow it).
2. I thought "previliges" (as in drivers license) were licensable and "rights" (as in gun owership) were not licensable?
3. There are three types of liars; liars, #### liars, and statisticians!

It's almost enough to ruin a good day at the range!
