These Handi-Rifles get a little confusing as to what can interchange with what rifle.
Technically, the reciever should be sent back for fitting/checking.
There is also a question of certain recievers not having the proper strength for certain high intensity rounds.
NEF will not fit an HR barrel to one of their recievers. Even though they are the same. Marlin has bought these companies now from what I understand so things may be in a state of flux for a while.
