I read in general that buckshot isn't ideal for hogs. But I found a place called nwcp who loads hardcast buck in sizes Tb-000b these are hi-velocity loads 1250-1380 fps there kinda pricey perhaps 18$ per box of 5 rd. They are rolled crimped. So im thinkin there worth the price over federals bucjshot which is 1100 fps for 18 pellet 00b. There's is a 00b 16 pellet 1250 fps hardc ast. They say the less pellets pattern better which I believe. So hoe do y'all think hardcast 000b will work compared to slug and dead coyote 00b ? This is for my 10 Ga.

I think they would work real good but I can only imagine the recoil of the 10 guage load you describe. I would think a slug would be a better choice and again the recoil....you the man. Not sure who sells 10 guage slugs. BTW, for hunting, or self defense for that matter, I would not be concerned with the price - buy the best.
Its not bad like every one thinks you just have to learn to shoot it. I've shot a spr 20 Ga that kicked worse. It just a slow push. I've shot it from siting down prone standing etc. If you get the chance to shoot one you'll be calling every one a puss who says it kicked lick a mule. Btw a mules kicks has 1-3k ft lb recoil force

Pretty much $2 per slug.
I have both the Federal and Hornady. Once I get a scope mounted I plan on testing the 12g 3" side by side.

Mark me down as a buckshot believer. Only problem with it is keeping the range short enough to assure the majority of the pellets strike the critter. Most of the makers work on building a better patterning buckshot load.
But when I know the shots are going to be in the thickest of the thick, the range under 20 yards, and a good chance the deer are spooky... I tend to pick buckshot.
