All,
I have come across a very interesting front sight in the Midway Catalog, and wonder if anyone has tried one and wants to share their impressions. Even if you have not tried one, what do you think? I think it might be quite good paired with a good peep rear sight. (Picture attached.)

fireplug,

I have used them quite a bit on my BPCR rifles. i really like them for distance shooting. i have ised them on game a bit and on a dark elk you can lose the light crosshairs that I have on the dark mane. That is the only complaint I have on them tho.

Fireplug,
One day at the shooting range a fellow let me fire an OLD .22 single shot rifle that he had, that was set up with a peep rear/crosshair front sight. It was really great! The old rifle held steady as a rock and the set trigger let off at an estimated 3-4 oz. It was very easy to center the bullseye with that combination at 25 yds. Don't know how it would do for hunting but it was awesome on the range!  ID

I now have the duplex unit on my FAL.  Works pretty well; the fine crosshair was too easy to lose.
Good shooting

I have not put one on any of my rifles, but I shot a match AR15 with one.  At 100 and 200 yard distances it was fine, but to shoot the 300 and 600 stages of the NM, the sight covered too much of the target

FWIW
