I hadn't been to the Hodgdon Powder web site for a while, so was pleased to note that they have added heavy bullet loads for both .44 & .45. The loads for the .44 cover the  325gr. LBT WLN GC, 330gr. LFN GC DCG, and 355gr. WLN GC DCG bullets.  The .45 coverage is 325gr. LFN, 335 WLN GC, and 360gr WLN GC.

I also found it interesting that they listed max. load data for the .44mag. but listed starting and max. load data for the .45LC.   Gosh, that couldn't mean they expect .44mag shooters to only consider max loads while the .45LC might consider something less than max.?  One would hope that those .44mag shooters aren't getting a reputation!

The new data from Hodgdon with the 44-325WLNGC, 44-330LFNGCDCG, and 44-355gWLNGCDCG bullets was developed using bullets we sent to them in February of this year.  It should take some of the guess-work out of load development using these heavy bullets in this cartridge.

God Bless,

Marshall
