Hello everyone,
My name is Brandon and I live in White Cloud Michigan.
I'm a young shooter (16) and I am looking at getting into pistol shooting. I am good at shooting just about every gun I have picked up. I am also very good with a bow, I won a youth state competition about 5 years back.
I would like to get into cometition pistol shooting, any information you all have please share.
But thats just a little bit about me, I looking forward to learning a lot more and I am all ears.

I can't tell you much about competition pistol-shooting, but I can definitely say...

Welcome to ShootersForum!

What kind of pistol do you currently own? Is there a particular style of pistol shooting you're interested in?

Best advice I could give you is to join a club. The handgun is not so important this early on. Learn the basics first. Almost any quality rimfire handgun will suffice at first. Others in the Club will likely invite you to try theirs. This way you can determine what works best for you in type, sights, what additional equipment you'll end up with. Experience is the key here. Learn as much as you can before investing a lot of hard earned bucks for "your handgun". And remember to have fun.

Hello from the U.P of Michigan and welcome. You have come to the right place to learn from others experience. Glad they share it with others. Also glad to see a young man interested in shooting. Please try to get as many of your friends involved as possible. Hunting and shooting seems to be a lost art anymore. More young people want video games than hunting or fishing. Steve

I do not own a pistol yet. I am looking for a nice .22 pistol to start with but I honestly have no place to start. I've looked around on here and have seen rugers come up alot...

Edit: Can I post in the mid west hunting section looking for shooters in my area?

Brandon I would like to welcome you to this outstanding forum concerning shooting, hunting, collecting and ballistics. You are too young to purchase a pistol but I do admire your want to learn how to use one and compete with it down the road perhaps.

My advice is to let your parents purchase a nice .22 cal. revolver to start off with and one that fits your hand very well. You can get a ton of information from the internet but I don't know of any youth pistol competitions but I am sure there is something going on for the youth.

Welcome, you're not too far from me, I'm in Ionia County. I've shot a fair amount of pistol, but mostly 9mm and up. If you're looking at a 22 LR, I have heard some good things about the Browning Buckmark, but have no personal exp with them.
