I was looking over an old article i had lying around and found a load of interest, the author said it was from the above reloaders guide.

The load in question was for the .308 win, 25 gn of 2400 behind the speer 150 gn SPBT giving 2280 f.p.s in 24" barrel....... Now i have a tub of 2400 and the mentioned bullets not to mention some 125 gn and fancy experimenting with some mild loads..................

Can any one help with data from this guide and relating to .308 and 2400 i would be most grateful .

Just happened to have the most recent copy of the Alliant Reloaders Guide next to me.

The only 2400 load listed is the one you already have. To be precise I will copy this direct from the manual, since the published info is not in agrement.

Sierra 150 Spitzer/25.0-2400/Fed. 210/2.600 L.O.A./2,215 f.p.s./36,700 c.u.p.

Note that LOA is MINIMUM, shorter will increase pressure, although at this pressure level it would be hard to do anything that would compromise safety.
