I have scheduled a hog hunt for Nov. 11-13, in S.Texas near Pleasanton. Lodging but no meals, $250 per person. This is a semi-guided hunt that includes the use of a walk in freezer. There are no trophy or kill fees. You will be provided the use of a night vision scope/rifle out of a blind for an additional $150, or for $225 you will be driven to the hogs and use the night vision equipement. Anyone interested is welcome to join us. 50% deposit is required.

No, not near Gonzales, but I have gone as far south as Crystal City and it's pretty much the same mesquite and brush country and the hogs are quite adaptable. As for ideal conditions, hogs thrive where they find food, be it mesquite beans, grubs, snakes or deer corn, the latter of which I am hoping will bring in some big ones during the hog hunt.
