I Was wondering what some of you do to clean your muzzleloader after shooting conical bullets? I usually run hoppes #9 bore solvent down the barrel and after 10 strokes with a bronze bore brush I wipe clean and I'm done. Is this sufficient for getting all the lead out? I hear leaded barrels are very difficult to clean, so I would like to prevent this from happening. Thanks in advance for all your input.:)

It depends

I clean my muzzleloaders with hot soapy water, hot water and dry patches. Then I brush the bore with JB Bore Cleaner and follow up with Remington Bore Cleaner on a cloth wrapped around a brush. If there is any lead or fouling remaining, it gets treated with Lead Wiping Cloth on a brush. I finish up with solvent patches, dry patches and an oil patch. That gets everything clean. All the best...
