Hey Guys ! First time here.

I'm buying a HVA 3000 s/n 2822xxx. No sights, scope plate, custom stock (flame maple), been in a collection for 30+ years, shows no wear, no cailber markings (they say 30.06).
Have been scanning th web for info, found alot on Huskys, Mausers, and such. Could anyone tell me about - what they think I have here?
Many Tks, MaddDawg

Edited to remove last digits of serial number. Not a good idea to post such on the internet - never know how it could be used.

I own a Husky 4100 in .270. The 3000, 3100, 4000 & 4100 series rifles were all built pretty much during the same timeframe; mid '50s to mid '70s. I find the FN action my rifle is built around to be as nice an action as most any rifle I've ever handled to include my '50s Sako Mauser, custom M98s and several pre '64 m70s. The 4100 is simply a shorter, more lightweight version of the 3000 and it sounds like yours had been restocked and perhaps rebarreled as well. You might want to remove the stock to see if there are any markings on the bottom-side of the barrel too. I'd think the previous owner to know what chambering he owned and I'd simply try and chamber a 30/06 round and also compare bullet diameter to muzzle opening diameter too.

Nice rifle! :D
