I went to a large local gun show this weekend and bought 2 new guns.

One was a EAA Witness Match Elite .45

It's a beautiful gun and handles great (like most 1911's)

Very crisp easy trigger.

I can't wait to get to the range & shoot it.

Thank you -

I have a witness in 9mm too and it's a great gun.

This Elite was new in the box.

It's the only Match Elite that I've seen in all stainless.

All the others were black & white.

I also bought a gun I had never seen - hadn't really heard about it.

It's a EAA EZ9 two-tone compact.

As you can see it's not made in Italy.

Nice little gun - I like the single control and the control being ambidextrous.

It has 3 ports on the top of the slide & barrel to reduce recoil -

It's a interesting gun.

As I said, it has 3 ports on the top of the slide & barrel to reduce recoil -

Here's what that looks like from above.

I've taken it to the range and it now has about 50 rounds through it.

It is fun to shoot and accurate .

I experienced 2 FTE,

The springs are very firm and I believe that with enough rounds through it to break it in - they will stop.

I like the gun and I paid $249 for it.

It's a better gun than $249 IMHO

EAA weapon quality has increased exponentially over the past few years. The witness is, as stated, a very comfortable gun. However, the statement "It's a beautiful gun and handles great (like most 1911's)" is a bit incorrect in that, of course, this is not a 1911 platform. Two FTE's is a bothersome thing and, if it happens again, needs to be immediately addressed. It may simply be "firm springs" as you suggest; however, a spring issue would exhibit more than just twice. My guess is the extractor.

I will look for one of these at the next gun show to see if one will fit my big paw.

Please dont compare your pistol to a 1911....

its not, it will never be, and you will hurt many happy Witness owners with that..

first off you have a double stack mag.
second, you have the ability to carry uncocked, safety off.... a safer method than cocked/locked

your eaa is likely capible of putting a full mag of ammo thru the same hole at 25 yards. most of them are...

this is a top shelf article you purchased, and only the best of handguns can compete with its reliability and accuracy.

be proud, and smile.... they kick ***

+1 imajeep

I think I got your tongue in cheek humor. :D

But just in case I missed it.

I use only comparing it to a 1911 in some small ways :)

I know that the trigger is completely different.

But having shot and carried different 1911 for years in the past.

I believe this is a all around better gun for me. :p

For all of the reasons you listed.

I've shot it several times now and am truly amazed at it's accuracy.

I have 4 EAA Witness pistols in 5 calibers, 9mm, 9x21, 38 super, 10mm and 45ACP. All are the standard blue/black all steel models. GREAT firearms. You can't go wrong.

I've thought about the elite match in 10mm.
Internet rumor seems to be..."most of the time their stuff is good, but if you get a lemon, customer service is very poor."
But then we all know about anonamys online experts.
Great prices though, still considering.
