If anyone can help me out here, I'd sure appreciate it. My dad just passed away and left me this rifle, so the sentimental value here is immense. Just want to know more about the gun.

Lots of sites on the web for gun ID info. Try Remington.

Remington's been making SxS double shotguns since at leats 1889, IIRC.

Does your shotgun have external hammers or not ?

Is the action body of your shotgun engraved, or only border etched ?

Have you looked at & written down the markings stamped into the action flats, barrel flats and barrel bottoms ?

Guns generally carry more information than most folks realize, and a very complete description and/or pics can be worth their weight in gold.
