When ever I go out camping, I am always armed. At the time this story takes place, I had with me my Ruger 10-22 rifle. It was always by my side and i never left camp without it. Even in previous trips to the outhouse, I would carry it slung over my shoulder always loaded, always ready. That is until this day.

I do not want to type out the whole thing, if you want to find out more please just go here.

And i never blamed the firearm either!

So if you had been armed you would have shot back??? It was a simple mistake by a young kid.
True, and as i pointed out, shock does weird things to the brain, at that moment all I wanted to do was protect myself and shoot back, but i believe God had purposely kept me from taking my rifle on that walk, i ALWAYS HAD MY RIFLE... until that 1 time.

I was shot this last weekend, too!

I was shooting 124gr XTP's out of a Ruger 9mm at a heavy steel target. A tiny fragment came back and hit my left cheek, about an inch under my eye. Suffice to say, I backed up a bit and switched to shooting a lighter, swinging steel target or paper. :)

No real damage done...the piece didn't even stick in my face, just bounced off.
Wow, glad to hear your ok!

That's a nasty looking wound for something as small as a .22. I sincerely hope you have a quick, and full recovery from it. Would not even want to think of what would have happened if that kid had been shooting a larger caliber gun.
I did not have a pic to show, so for an example used a stock pic off Google.

Well sir, I change my tune. I think NSB nailed it - that story is to draw attention to your site.

Nothing in your original post OR in the article says anything about it happening 20 years ago. In fact, unless I'm a fool, everyone in here is led to believe this just happened last week! And.... why use a generic picture from Google to show a wound that didn;t occur to you?
Nothing in your post or article evens infers that the picture was not available. I guess I am a fool for seeing a wound entirely healed from an accident occurring a few days ago. Sucker!

I think sir, after leading us down that path, that the entire story is untrue, including your thanking the Lord. Why use God to dress up a story that is already suspect and may be entrely false? This is not the forum for your stories.

ON EDIT: I'll tell you how to maybe exonerate yourself. Print this page. Pull your pants down. Hold the printed page near the wound. Take a picture. Post it in this thread.
Not having a picture of the fresh wound 21 years after, I used the closest stock photo I could find. I chose that one because it is the only pic I found the just about exactly shows were my exit wound was.. very close. I have edited the post pic in question with a caption that reads "example-not my wound"

This is a true story, and in the spirit of new friends, not that I have to prove anything to anyone, i will print this out as you asked and drop the drawers and get as best I can the dime sized entrance wound. EXPECT IT IN ABOUT AN HOUR, IM STILL AT WORK.

The fact that I DECIDED TO WRITE ABOUT MY INCIDENT, 20+ YEARS LATER woops, is not fishy. Memorial Day is the anniversary of the shooting, and I have never thought about writing the story before, and it is all true. So I did, it happened, how long ago is kinda irrelevant.

But I love that we are talking about it, i need to go home and take a photo now, see you soon!:D
