I gave the AA#5 a test run in a Marlin .35 Rem 336 today. Lyman 358311 sized .358 Rooster Red lube, 11.7gr. AA#5, CCI200, crimped in crimp groove. Results for 5 shots
1. 1527fps
2. 1566fps
3. 1550fps
4. 1550fps
5. 1533fps
It seems to work very consistently in this one too!!!
Thanks for the Idea!!:D :D

Glad to hear you got good results! I was just amazed that a small charge like that could be so consistent without a filler. Marshall has suggested that some of my success may be due to using large pistol primers, so you might try that if you have some on hand and want to experiment, but it sounds like you already got good results with the load you tried.
Always like to hear a success story! IDShooter

Tried 8X57 AA#5 Works Agian

WOW WHAT A DAY!!!
Just got back in from the back forty a shootin' cast outa the new Yugo 48A. Boy if this baby had a set a sights I could see it would be amazin'. Tried some Saeco 190gr. sized .325 lubed with Orange Magic cast outa 40 W.W. to 1 Tin, Air cooled, not weighed just visual sorted, Lit with a CCI200, in W-W Super new cases, 2.965" O.A.L., thats not engraved just as far as I can seat em out and cover the lube groove, 14.7gr. AA#5, the spread on velocity was incredible. Would Ya belive 10 shots went like this:

1505-1510-1516-1515-1516-1517-1512-1516-1512-1510

and this with no filler and fed from the magazine on the bags, no raisin' the muzzle or nothin'. Extreme spread was only 7 fps.
Grouped inta less than 1 1/2" @ 50yds too.
Now ifin' I could find a peep sight an a square front blade steda that darn W lookin' affair, I think it would really shoot. But I'm a purty happy cowboy anyways.
