When I was a teen a friend used an Ithaca Model 37, and it seemed a very good quality gun. I still had that impression 30 years later when I bought an Ithaca SKB 500 for my son in 1979. I didn't realize the gun was Japanese made until much later. The gun hasn't been used in the intervening years, and I have lost track of the fortunes of the Ithaca company. Apparently SKB is still up and running, but what about Ithaca? I see they are still in business and building guns in Ohio, but what quality guns are they?

I have one in the fancy trap configuration. Don't think it's
a 500 it's 800 or something. Too lazy to look in the gun
cabinet. They are not good guns if you shoot a lot. Trap
shooters shoot a lot. Mine doubles with pigeon loads and
the gunsmith can't find the problem. I have a friend with
one and he dumped it.
