Needless to say from the title My wife and I could really use some prayer right about now. I've been bugging her off an on to get this funny little spot on her back checked out since we got married 2 1/2 years ago. you know one of those moles with uneven edges, different colors from side to side and so on. well she finally did. we got the results from the biopsy on Thursday and it is melanoma. we both feel like we've been gut kicked. Her faith is strong and she is already thanking God for the healing that is on the way.

Specifically we need Healing of course,
we also need wisdom picking the right doctors to give us good information
we also want to pray for wisdom on the part of the doctors to develop the best plan of action.

Thanks Gents.

Blessings to you and your wife.

I've had 3 removed from my head in the last 6 months;2 benign, one basal cell.
All at 46yo. Dr. says all those years as a lifeguard in my teens probably did not help:rolleyes:
just last month I had a soft tissue tumor removed from my left bicep the size of a grape tomato....

it came back benign, I did not know it was even there....just an itchy spot on my arm, that burned once and a while.

do get checked, even for the smallest 'spot'

I wish you wife the best health and a speedy recovery, and to you sir, good for you to get her to go!!!!

best,
chris~

Prayers done for both you and your wife - praying for healing and that the doctors/medicine are Divinely guided and that there will be a miraclous outcome. The doctors are fighting satan/disease physically just as we fight satan spiritually.

My prayers are for your wife and a healthy outcome and for the strength to endure the treatment. My prayers are also for you to have the strength to stand beside her and give her strength and help she will need. I know nothing about doctors in Wa. Ask around to patients and ask for help to find "right" one. Most of all don't ask God why this happened to your wife. Ask him to help rid her of the cancer and live a long healthy life after. Helix, my wife and I will add you and your wife to our prayer list, and lift you before the Great Physician. May He heal her, and bless you both.

"Cancer" has got to be one of the most vile words in the English language, and melanoma is one of the more evil strains, as you already know. However, there is hope. My dad had a melanoma on his face, from which he made a complete recovery. He died many years later of a stroke, without ever having the cancer return.

Good job getting your wife to the doctor.

Blessings, y'all,

The Old Guy

Helix, you and your wife are definitely in my prayers for healing and the strength to deal with the situation. I have had that beast on my right ear and the right side of my head behind the ear, three surgeries spread over three years, the last followed by radiation and chemo. Thank the Lord I am now three years clear, altho in my case I developed neuropathy from the chemo (rare) and have had to learn to deal with my "new normal". We will all pray for you. I am always available by PM if you need someone to talk to. Goatwhiskers the Elder

Just thought I would touch back on this subject. My wife had the melanoma removed only a few days after it was diagnosed. we went to a general surgon and got his opinion but did not neccessarily care for his approach. I had called my boss right after getting the news from my wife and asked who he saw for his multiple melanomas. He called up his doc's office and got us an appointment even though the doc was on his last day in the office before having surgery for carple tunnel and then taking a few weeks off. we got the final lab resuslts back last week. the depth was superficial and "clear margins all the way around" whatever that means. Good news anyway. they don't expect it to reoccur and no further treatment is needed. we have her set up for future checks and we are thanking God for his favor and working out all the details. Praise Jesus! Thank you gents for keeping us in your prayers. we appreciate you much.

Had a cancerous growth removed from my hand one time. Same thing ... large and irregularly shaped and strange colors. Too many years as a signpainter out in Colorado doing billboard work. Took 5 operations but he finally got it all. My brother had a tear duct removed, along with part of his nose because of skin cancer. Looks like his is back. Good luck and trust in God. He has a plan.

I had one too and I'm fine, she will be also

I am glad to hear your news. I had a melanoma on my back it too was superficial. The depth is what really matters, anything less than 1mm deep has a 95% cure rate just from removing it. That is what my situation was and I have no problems since then I expect that your wife will do just fine too.

God bless you both,

Terry

Helix: Sorry to hear the news!!! I lost a sister to breast cancer 4 yrs. ago and wouldn't wish anything like that on anyone. Though I myself don't believe in any god, if you do I hope he tends to your wife with great tenderness and care. May your god bless you and keep you safe. HD1
