I always used a slotted patch holster to clean the bore of my 223 , tried using a jag so tight can’t push it through the bore. What am I doing wrong?

You lost me there????
AND,
I try to never have excess drag when cleaning from breech end so the cleaning rod doesn't flex and contact rifle bore.

OK, I have it now.
When cleaning my muzzle loaders the patch has to come back out but its a hard pull reversing the stroke so I have always pushed the jag through on my rifles.
I see a jag with opposing barbs by Montana X-Treem. maybe I will order a couple of them.
