K11 Rear Sight Base Collar

So, I just ordered the last part I need for the bolt for my Swiss Schmidt Rubin K11 barreled receiver, and want to move on to the rear sight, as the rear sight base Collar(it was a collar, then the base, then the leaf, the pin, and the adjuster) since that's the next assembly that seems the hardest to get, or get parts for, before I get the trigger assembly, then the stock, bands, trigger guard, and the mag. My question is that since the rear sight leaf looks very similar on the K31, could I put a K31 rear sight base/collar(or the whole assembly). I don't know if they're interchangeable, I just know that they're both carbines from Switzerland that shoot the same round. So I'm asking before I run off and do something and end up regretting it

It was a good question when you posted it, and still is. Probably not too many folks have tried out interchangeability. I certainly can't spot anything in photos to suggest the sights are any different, but the collar is under the wood in those images, so I can't say. You need someone who owns copies of both and who is willing to take them out of their stocks to look. The main thing will be the barrel diameter in front of the first step in it. If that's the same, I guess they should interchange.

Thanks for the info. I do have a parts shop I can call on Tuesday and see if they know for sure.
Once again, Thanks,
Myles
The straight rear sight section is amazingly consistent between all Mausers and most everything else. The problem is, you don't know what that diameter is until after the sight base is removed. Many are damaged during removal, too.
