This is what the right side of my K31 looked like when I bought it last Monday:



This is what it looks like after sanding, stain, and 4 coats of tung oil:

It's not perfect and I'm not done with the tung oil, but I think it looks quite a bit better.

Keep at it, Matt - then bring it to the range some time and We'll compare hand finishes on K31's! :D

You are doing exactly the kind of job I like to do on similar guns -- more of a stock "refreshing" than a refinishing. I like it!

Better than I can with open sights! :D

I have tried several different loads:

Wolf 174 grain SP
PRVI 174 grain FMJ BT
Handloads with 165 grain cast, 147 grain FMJ BT's, and 173 grain FMJ BT's

It seemed to shoot them all at least pretty well.

Heck of a deal for $200 IMO.
