Thank you sir, glad you found it of use!

About the pack, it is about six or seven years old, and has the name Tarantulas on a tag embroidered on the front.  Nothing special, just a Plain-Jane fleece pack that met the size and organizational needs for my pack!  It just happened to be on sale, after the first of the year on a clearance in a somewhat local sporting goods store,  and I snatched it up!

Yes, the daypack article was outstanding, I downloaded it for fear that it would slip back when other tech articles came out, and be hard to find.

Please keep that one with a link on the main page.  Loading data comes and loading data goes, but that information will be useful and valuable forever.

I had been doing a fanny-pack for a few years now, works great in TX where most of the hunting is from stands and you're hardly ever far from a vehicle.  But I think I'll use the pack to organize things in my truck.  Some of the other things were already in my truck, some I'll have to get, but all are truly useful.

I could only think of one thing to add - if wearing corrective lenses (glasses/contacts), keep your spare pair in the pack.

You are absolutely right!  Wow, I have heavily corrected vision (20/800 & 20/650) and wouldn't think of leaving home without backup corrective lenses.  Sometimes we overlook the obvious.  How true, they do need to be added to that list!  I'll make the changes!

I can only say "Amen"!

I have found a wealth of info here along with the support needed to help smooth out the learning curve (pressure spikes and all!)

As far as huntin packs go, I used a "Dwight Schuh" pack this year after seeing a couple in use over several years. While not cheap, it was not "spendy" considering the versatality and compared to a Kifaru Longhunter.

I was happy with the way the frame handled the front quarters of a rather large moose. It was a bit small for the hind quarters (as is anything short of a forklift) but held up to the task.
