it can be applied towards another 6gun or to sweeten'/tighten'/improve an existing 6gun. If the latter, it would go towards my 5.5" SS Bisley. If the latter, what work did you have (or are having) done and who did (is doing) the work?

Thanks and God Bless.

I spent a little money on my Smith model 14 and sent it to Cylinder and Slide.

Bill Laughridge and his people do really nice work and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the work.

I'd spend it on powder, cases, primers. Ninty nine percent of all guns coming out of the factory are better shooters then I. I'd spend the money on more chances to practice.

Alan,

About the only thing I'd have done is to have a trigger job. Pick any of the 'smiths you see named here on the list ..... got to be a dozen or two .... and this is not to say the 'smith in your home town couldn't do a perfectly good job. What...... maybe $50?

All good suggestions,

I'd have maybe a trigger job done then get some components with the rest or put a little aside for some mad money for an idea that hasn't hit you yet.

You can NEVER have too many components!

Yeah, but if I open this can of powder, I'll ONLY have 30 lbs Left!

Alan,

I'd second El Lobo/Contender's suggestion of an trigger/action upgrade. Then I'd spend a couple of dollars on Marshall's book to learn how to firelap the barrel or size the throats. You need a holster if you don't have one, and I'm sure you could use some loading equipment. Expensive, but I find my digital scales to be super nice. You can usually scrape up a $15 for bullets/powder, but the bigger items you get when you've got $350 to play with.

only $350.00 huh? well I think the best way to maximise my firearms or add to the collection, would be to spend the money redecorating the bathroom to the wifes tastes, or building a deck,,that way I could piddle about a $1,000.00 over the next year into various firearm upgrades and reloading equipment, and if my better half complained I could remind her of the money spent on her wishes.

I tell you, I'm with Snowman on this one. Do something really nice that your wife wants done and you can get away with at least 2 times that afterwards. Think of it as an investment. Time value of money.

Sure 350 gets you a lot of reloading supplies right now, but 7 will get you a new gun and reloading supplies in a few months.

Alan,

These obviously well intended gentlemen are suggesting you can outsmart your wife to which I say, "FAT CHANCE", a bird in the hand -- you know the rest The option of a dozen roses at around $40, which would probably just make her suspicious, is up to you. Maybe a nice meal, but gosh, one thing leads to another and before you know it, the family is growing and you'll never have enough money and will be selling what you have.

Being single, I don't have to enjoy the games of dealing with a female under roof. Matter of fact I have a poster in my office and a T-shirt that I had printed up that says-If you have not aggrevated a woman today..That means you are either dead or have not gotten out of bed.
So do it early and do it often.

Ya know I actually had a lady make the suggestion that I take her Nags Head, a beach area, for a long week end. I thought about it for a moment, calculated the costs and said to her The cost of that long week end would be around $600.00. That $600.00 bucks would get me a new Rossi 1892 lever action rifle. Do you think you are worth a new lever action to me? She paused and I answered for her..Nope. She left, I got me a new rifle.
I like to put my money into things that will stick around and have some value on down the road.
