I didn't take any pictures of the target afterwards today however in my Marlin Guide Guns they shoot a 1.00" group at 100 yards if I do my part or in a bench rest...... They actually are one of the more accurate or repeatable rounds that I load - note with a scoop. When I get anal enough to measure every last grain they don't seem to be that much more repeatable so I stick to the powder dipper most of the time.So.......how'd they shoot? I've never gotten what I call good accuracy out of any 300g bullet in any of my 45-70s, but I'm always open minded to someone else's results. IMR and Hodgdon 4198 are two of my favorite powders in this caliber, but I get best results from bullets weighing 400+ grains. The absolute best groups are with the Rem 405g JSP bullet. They shoot very, very good with a lot of different powders. Show some pics of the groups you got.
Try 48 grains of H4198 behind the 300 grain hp, my GBL does a MOA . A nice mild load.So.......how'd they shoot?
