Most of my loading experence is with higher velocity loads and now I'm looking to load Hornady 255gr rn lead.  It seams that with such a small powder quanity that there should be something else to fill the rest of the case like a filler. Any good load suggestion for this bullet would be appreciated. thanks

Hi Joe,

Try Titegroup (Hodgdon).  I've had real good luck with this in the .45 Colt, same basic problem, and I didn't need any fillers.

You can also set the bullets as deep as possible (ie to the front of the shoulder on a semi-wadcutter).  Of course don't do this with full power loads.

Some people do use fillers with good success, but when I'm shooting a handgun I want to shoot a lot and this would slow my reloading down too much.

I use 6.5gr of Titegroup with a 200 gr LSWC and get consistant 1-1.5" groups at 25 yards. Very low recoil, excellent accuracy, and easy to load. No fillers were used and it seems not to need any. Good Shooting! pistolpete
