I had a muzzleloader doe antelope tag this year, got one opportunity week before last but miffed it, don't ask, total amateur mistake. I'm trying to forget that one.
This last weekend the wife had a regular rifle doe tag, we got up early and were there at sunrise, didn't see anything for the first half hour that was in range. We stopped at the first water tank and I hid the truck behind a wind turbine, we only had to wait a few minutes and a lone doe came out from behind a hill down near the tank. I lasered her and put the dope in the Vortex Strike eagle 3x18 that rides my Christensen Arms 6.5 PRC. The doe was preoccupied with something down at the tank, a coyote as it turned out so she didn't see us.
The wife turned to power up all the way and I told her to hold a couple of inches to the right for a 2-3mph wind.
She sent one and I couldn't tell if it was a hit so she jacked another one in and sent it, that one was undoubtly a hit because she dropped instantly.
Then I told her how far it was, I intentionally didn't share that with her beforehand because it would have ruined her confidence.
She gave me that look when I told her it was 504yds!
I shoot that rifle a lot out to 600yds at the club so the zero's are spot on, add to that it's crazy accurate with those 130gr. Hornady cx monolithics and longish shots are doable especially on antelope.
We go down to collect her and I don't know what happened on the first shot but it was closer to the center of her, it was fatal but if they're still standing I say keep shooting. Second shot was perfect high front shoulder hit.
Antelope meat makes really good breakfast sausage so that's what happens to them at my house.
I'll post a picture tomorrow.

98lbs of country sage breakfast sausage! We enjoy our kids coming over for breakfast on the weekends but going to have to keep an eye on any bags they're sneaking out the door when they go home,ha ha
The buck in the bottom pic was taken the next day by one of the guys at my place,we worked hard to get 358yds of the buck,he made a great shot with his Christensen Arms 6.5 PRC. He just wanted a couple of steaks and gave me the rest for breakfast sausage.
