During last weekend hunt, got into a discussion of why I felt hard cast bullets are better than Jacketed.
My primary argument was blood trail. (Penetration) My partner took a shot with a 44 mag jacketed bullet. We looked for hours for some sign of a hit. I told him that is why I switched to cast.
His only lame reply was that is not a very safe bullet. All I could do was shake my head and walk away. He was replying to full penetration, and where the bullet might go after the shot.
I think I am going to look for a new hunting partner. I don’t want to get shot by a jacketed bullet that is not supposed to go through an animal. I even get mad thinking about it now.
