after tossing and turning all night, i woke up with a plan. 458 win mag is the same caliber
and is .147 in to long. thats an easy fix. i took the barrel of the action and made a chamber
cast useing zinc. i didn,t have enogh creosafe. i then made a mould and my first hybrid
577-450. now i need to get some more 458 brass and some tweeking.

Contact rocky mountain cartridge. They make brass for every oddball caliber trust me there lathe turned. Plus I don't think the 577-450 is exactly 458. I believe its 460-470 cal some had loose bore and tire bores

I used 24 guage brass shotshells and ran them through a die for a friends .577 snider conversion....should work and the rim is right

I love your hybrid case - all that extra case capacity in the 577-450 is a royal pain to work around....

I had the same idea, except I was going to turn brass bar-stock and use .45-70 or .45-90 brass. Then when I got neck splits I'd just punch-out and replace the shell....
