reload, Marlin chambered the 336 in 44mag after Ruger popularized it as a rifle cartridge. Feeding problems convinced them to introduce the M1894 to have a more reliable firearm for short pistol cartridges. You would be in the same boat and nothing is more exasperating then a tool that don't work as designed or should. Go there if you like, but you know the rest of the story, now.
