I have been reading the post about the Marlin 39M, I have two Marlin 39M's that i purchased in 1981 and 1982, both my rifles do not have a golden trigger, what is the difference in the one's with the gold trigger and one without, both these guns were purchased brand new from gun store in PA.

Thanks
Larry

Welcome Larry... I cannot help you with this, but there are a few guys over on RimfireCentral.com who can. Just go over there and ask this in the marlin section, and someone will know the answer. There ws probably a break in the years they were made as to which ones had the gold trigger and which ones did not. I know my Dad had an old 1957 39A Golden, that had a blued trigger.
Welcome to the forum Larry!
Marlin started the gold colored triggers when they first put the word "golden" on the barrel, then dropped the golden trigger for awhile starting in the late 70's if I recall correctly, then went back to the golden trigger again. I don't recall the exact year range, but I do know that yours fall within it.
Gismo is right, RFC is a great place for Marlin info.
Thanks to both of you who replyed
